Hi everyone. Well another week and another eventful Saturday at Huish Park – one thing is for sure we are never boring!

The famous cliché – “a game of two halves” – pretty much sums up Yeovil Town this season. For some reason we like to only play for 45 minutes at the moment.

I don’t think anyone will disagree that the first half against fellow strugglers Dagenham and Redbridge was appalling. We were completely dominated and I was wondering why Dagenham held their position in the league. They passed the ball well and got a lot of crosses in the box. We could not deal with them and they deservedly took a 2-0 lead in to the break.

However, whatever Paul Sturrock said (or shouted) at half-time worked a treat. Introducing Sokolik and Jeffers was a master stroke.

We battled well and got our rewards. It is not very often that a player gets man of the match having been on the field for just one half but Jakub was outstanding. Not only did he sure up the defence, he was also at the heart of the attacking play. Everything started with him at centre back and he was not afraid to push forward but never got caught out.

It was great to be back at Huish Park on Saturday but the boos at half-time were a bit upsetting. I know it is tough but we must remember that it is a young side out there. Last season was the most difficult, I think, as a Yeovil Town fan in a long time but this season the squad cares about the result and looks to put things right.

We have come from 2-0 down three times now. I know we still lost at Exeter but not many sides have that sort of belief and determination. Get behind the lads and the results will no doubt follow!

As for the rest of the football world, it was just League One and League Two that were in action but it was also non-league day.

Take a look at this goal from a mere 75 yards. Scott Davies tried his luck for Wealdstone and this was the result. Brilliant!

Davies also spent four games on loan at Huish Park so it is easy to see where he learnt all his skills.

In League One, all eyes are this week on Doncaster Rovers who are yet to appoint a new manager, despite sacking Paul Dickov over a month ago.

Donny have suffered of late and it just goes to show how much relegation affects a club. Having slipped out of the Championship alongside us they have been disappointing and now hover just above the relegation zone.

In fact, they only rose out of the bottom four this weekend and they didn’t even play!

Many names have been mentioned including Danny Wilson, Darren Ferguson and Lee Clarke. They all have a lot of experience at this level and Doncaster need some stability to avoid joining us in League Two.

I always feel an affiliation with them as we followed each other from the Conference to the Championship so I hope the new manager does well. It is a great club that never forgets its roots.

As for us, we head to Notts County on Saturday in what will be another tough test for the lads. Connor Roberts has extended his loan spell and having impressed so far this season that will be a huge boost.

Notts are just five points ahead of us so a win could be huge. It shows how tight this league is and if you put a run of results together, the dynamic of the season can completely change.

If we can put together a 90 minute performance then we should be well on the way.

Safe trip to all the ever loyal YTFC fans and let’s hope for an important three points and that we stretch our unbeaten run to four matches.
