22nd November 2019

Yeovil Town and Wrexham AFC meet at the Racecourse Ground for the first ever league clash between the two sides.

Despite an overwhelmingly good start to the season, Darren Sarll’s Yeovil side have faltered in recent weeks with only two wins in the last six games.

Wrexham have had a tough start to life in the 19/20 season. Despite being hotly tipped as promotion candidates, Dean Keates side sit in 22ndplace.

In what will be our first ever visit to the Racecourse Ground, the green and whites will be looking to climb back up the National League table with a win on Saturday.

Have we met before?

This will be the first league clash between the two sides, having only previously met in an FA Cup clash and a friendly.

The FA Cup clash was the most recent encounter, taking place in 2003 at Huish Park, Town comfortably advanced to the next round with a 4-1 victory.

Our friendly clash came 47 years earlier in October 1956 as the Glovers hosted the North Wales outfit. The green and whites were the 2-1 victors in the mid-season friendly thanks to goals from Harry Robshaw and Jimmy Elder.

Officials

Samuel Barrott will be taking charge of the National League clash in North Wales. This will be Barrott’s second Yeovil match this season, previously taking charge of our encounter with Dagenham & Redbridge in August.

Barrott will be assisted by Paul Tomes and Alex Gray, with Niall Smith acting as the fourth official.
