Yeovil Town will look to extend their unbeaten run on the road against Wrexham on Tuesday evening.

A fixture that was originally stated to be played on the opening weekend of the season, the clash in North Wales was pushed back due to COVID-19 infections within the Yeovil camp.

Both sides come into the fixture in good form, with Wrexham having climbed into a play-off spot last weekend with a victory over Bromley.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Speaking after Yeovil Town’s draw with Dover, Yeovil Town manager Darren Sarll said; “The great thing about this group is that they learn. It’s all about processes and progression. Today they’ve played in the worst conditions I’ve had here (Huish Park), in two and a half years.

“We didn’t get beaten, and we’ve probably overachieved this month. We shouldn’t be too disappointed, we’ve taken a point, we haven’t lost the game and showed good character second half.”

Team news

Sarll will be without a number of players for Tuesday night’s trip to North Wales. Jack Robinson remains unavailable following an injury he picked up in Town’s victory over Yate. Despite Reuben Reid returning to training, our cup clash with Stevenage has been targeted as his return date by the boss.

Joe Quigley remains unavailable after the knock he took against Dagenham & Redbridge, whilst Mark Little continues his recovery from his long-term injury.

Winger Tom Knowles was unable to continue against Dover, and will be a doubt for Tuesday night.

Have we met before

Since dropping back into the National League, Yeovil Town have endured mixed fortunes against the Red Dragons.

In Sarll’s first season, the two sides played out a memorable 3-3 draw, with Rhys Murphy hitting a hat-trick. In February 2020, the Glovers final home fixture before the COVID-19 lockdown, Yeovil were the 3-0 victors.

Last season, Tuesday’s hosts enjoyed success in the fixture, winning both games against the green and whites.

A foot in the opposition camp

Wrexham have been the most widely spoken about team in the National League this season, and it hasn’t been for what’s happened on the pitch. The club are now owned by Hollywood A-Lister Ryan Reynolds, alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

The investment from the big names has seen big changes at the Racecourse Ground, with players such as Ben Tozer and Paul Mullin dropping down the divisions to play National League football.

Despite the big names, Wrexham have not flown to the top of the National League table as expected, currently sitting in 7th place.
