A game that needs no introduction, on Saturday afternoon (3pm), Yeovil Town host bitter-rivals Weymouth in front of fans in competitive action for the first time in just under 22 years.
Although both sides have struggled for form as late, that’s something that goes out the window for this hotly-anticipated cup-tie.
Darren Sarll will be hoping his side can replicate last season’s memorable victories over the Terras, after the Glovers did the double over their rivals.

Looking ahead to the fixture in his pre-match press conference, Sarll said; “It’s a really good game for the players to experience.
“The FA Cup makes it feel even more glamourous. It will be a very tough game, they’ve made some massive improvements since last season.
“In terms of resources, it’s the closest the two clubs have been so it could be the tightest game with Weymouth in a long-time.”

Team news
In his press conference, Sarll confirmed that Dion Pereira will not be available after struggling with fatigue. The winger has returned to his parent club Luton for the time being.
Central defenders Luke Wilkinson and Morgan Williams are edging closer to a recovery but remain unavailable for Saturday’s game.
Reuben Reid and Mark Little remain long-term absentees.
A foot in the opposition camp
Weymouth were founded in 1890, 131 years ago. The club are nicknamed ‘The Terras’ due to their terracotta strip, the team won the Dorset Junior Cup for the first three seasons, becoming a senior club as the team rose in stature.
During their spells in the same division, Yeovil and Weymouth hold a bitter rivalry due to both competitive and geographical factors, with the sides separated by under 30 miles.
Manager Brian Stock became manager following the departure of Mark Molesley in the Summer of 2020, this is the ex-AFC Bournemouth player and youth coach’s first senior management role.
The man to look out for in the visitors camp is Tyler Cordner. Vice-captain at just 22-years-old, Cordner has non-league and Football League experience. After a number of loan spells across the pyramid whilst on the books at Bournemouth, he made Weymouth his permanent home at the start of the season.

Yeovil Town and Weymouth have met a total of 205 times in their history, Yeovil hold the strongest record in the fixture, with 90 wins. Weymouth have won on 77 occasions and 36 draws.
The most recent win for Town came in February 2021, a Rhys Murphy hat trick sank the Terras in National League action as Town completed there double.
Prior to last season, the derby was last played in 1999 as Weymouth took Yeovil to a replay after a 0-0 draw at the Bob Lucas Stadium. In the return fixture the Glovers won 2-1 at Huish Park.
