I am so happy – I finally get to write a blog after a win. In fact, not even after just one win but after two!

But I do have one negative to kick off with. On Tuesday night Joe Edwards was there to watch the lads pull off a great Cup win. This is great news but the bad news is I was not there to beg him to come back!

All jokes aside – what a win that was. England footballers I hope you were taking note of our expertly taken penalties.

We now have a 100% record in two shoot-outs as well as scoring one against Exeter so well done lads for keeping your cool.

Yeovil Town are now just three games away from Wembley and in the second round of the FA Cup.

Maidstone was always going to be a tricky one and I think a lot of people thought it was a potential banana skin.

Despite two red cards, we saw out the match well and the call for the last minute offside goal was spot on. So from all YTFC fans – thank you linesman!

I do love the FA Cup and I also love the shocks – as Yeovil are not the victims. Now that has thankfully not happened, I can happily discuss the giant-killings from last weekend.

Salford City, who play in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier – the seventh tier of English football – put on a remarkable show for the cameras on Friday night.

They deservedly knocked out our fellow League Two side Notts County 2-0 and in some style. Richie Allen scored the decisive second goal and his individual skill was something you would not expect from a part-time footballer.

The club have had a lot of publicity lately thanks to their “Class of 92” documentary which showed the five former Manchester United starlets deal with buying a non-league club.

But they still had to put a performance on and they will be hoping they can do it all again against Hartlepool in the second round.

Bristol Rovers also endured a tough time as they were beaten 1-0 by Chesham. The non-league side even missed a penalty but showed immense character to net a late winner.

These teams are now just one game away from a potential tie with a Premier League side – that is what football is all about.

I would also like to mention once again our ladies team. On Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the Yeovil ladies end of season awards.

After finishing fourth in Women’s Super League Two – promotion next season is a distinct possibility and the players and manager are all committed to making that happen.

I was able to present Helen Bleazard with the supporter’s player of the year award which was very much deserved. She also went home with player’s player of the year and joint main sponsor’s player of the year.

It really is an amazing achievement and her leadership on the pitch was clear for all Yeovil fans to see.

I urge you all to keep an eye on the news coming up from the ladies and for you to be a part of next season – it will be a special once.

As for the men, on Saturday we have a dress rehearsal for our FA Cup second round match at home to Stevenage.

This match is huge. After two good results in the Cups – we now need to show that we can transfer that to the league. Ultimately, that has to be our priority. Stevenage have had a tough start to the season but they have picked up some good results and with Teddy Sheringham in charge they certainly will be tough to beat.

But we should be the ones to fear and I really hope that this is now a turning point in our season. Let’s get behind the boys and Pack the Park – over the last two matches they have showed immense passion and determination. These are two things that will be crucial to staying up – and we will stay up.

Until next week…Achieve By Unity!
