Ed, 20, was released by Ipswich Town in June 2010 after previously progressing through the youth system at Portman Road.

He made two appearances for the Tractor Boys in 2009/10, both in the Carling Cup, and spent a spell on loan at League Two Barnet as well, playing nine times and scoring once.

His career took off in 2005 when the player, who is at home either in the left or centre of midfield, scored the winner in the FA Youth Cup Final against Southampton.

The following year he was taken on as a first year scholar and signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday in November 2006. In 2007, he made his international debut for the England under-19 team in a 4-0 victory over Belarus at Meadow Lane, home of Notts County FC.

Ed spent time on loan at Conference side Stevenage making a single appearance for them before subsequently returning back to Portman Road then arriving at Huish Park in the summer of 2010.

He made 24 appearances for the Glovers in his debut season scoring at Hartlepool and pushed on in his second season playing 45 games and scoring five times, most of which were spectacular hits from outside of the area.

Ed should top 100 career appearances this season and will be hoping to continue his improved goal scoring record.
