Midfielder Alex Lawless arrived at Huish Park ahead of the 2016/17 season, signing a one-year deal with the Club.

The 31-year-old signed for Town on a free transfer after leaving fellow League Two outfit Luton Town, where he became a firm fans’ favourite having made over 160 appearances for the Hatters between 2011 and 2016.

The central midfielder, who can also play at right-back, started his career playing in the Cardiff academy before signing for Welsh Division One club Ton Pentre.
In 2003 Alex signed his first professional contract with the then Premier League side Fulham, but never made a first team appearance before being released in 2005.
Alex enjoyed spells at Forest Green Rovers and York City before moving to Kenilworth Road, initially on loan in 2010 before signing permanently a year later.
