Yeovil Town Ladies operate in the FA Women’s Premier League, Southern Division, having been promoted from the South West Combination Women's Football League last season.
The vast majority of the squad has been retained from the previous campaign, and with a number of quality additions and a flood of youngsters coming in from the county centre of excellence, the girls are looking to establish themselves in the Premier league this season.
Joint managers Nigel Williams and Sarah Lawler took over the running of the first team in March 2011, and together with assistant manager Chris White, they lead a dedicated backroom staff who are focussed on developing a first class squad not only in an attempt to gain promotion to the National League, but to continue to progress off the field too.
Emma Brazell is the club captain and Rachel Edwards leads the team on the field of play. Both players work hard with the management to gain maximum success on the field of play. Both make a massive contribution to the development of the club, both as captains and committee members.
Yeovil Town Ladies are a Charter Standard club, and are the current South West Combination Women’s Football League Champions. They have also won the Somerset FA Women’s Senior Cup in the two previous seasons. They are the holders of the National Respect Gold award for the English ladies football pyramid, and are the 2012 Somerset Women’s club of the season.
A Strong Collection Of Playing Squads
YEOVIL Ladies operate a First and Reserve team, as well as four youth teams, playing at Under-12, Under-13, Under-15 and at Under-16 levels this 2012/13 season.
The Reserve team is managed by Andy Dickinson, with his assistant manager Mike Board. Last season they enjoyed a decent second campaign in the FA Premier League Reserve Southern Division Two, and continue to operate at this level this season.
Playing alongside a number of experienced players, the Reserves are a hotbed for some very promising youngsters, all of who are being developed towards First team football. Continuing to play in a higher league this season should help with their long-term development, and with it, the club’s future looks to be in safe hands.
The club have a strong and well-established youth system, with all the teams playing in the Somerset FA Girls League. The Under-Twelve squad is managed by Mike Board and coached by the up and coming Chelsea Board, and should do well this season having won the league in the last campaign.
The Under-Thirteen’s are managed by Mark Howard, and are in their fourth season together, having won the Under-Twelve league last season the Under-Fifteen squad are now in their second season playing eleven football, having finished runners up in both the league and cup last season. They are looking to continue their fine progress this term under the coaching of the experienced Clive Watts.
The Under-Sixteen squad is managed by the up and coming Rosie Williams. They finished league Champions last season, and will continue to move towards senior football this year.
