New Yeovil Town loan signing Danny Maguire is hoping his spell at Huish Park will turn him from a boy into a man.
The 19-year-old has linked up with the Glovers for the rest of the season on loan from Queens Park Rangers.
He could make his debut in today's League One clash at home to Swindon Town.
Maguire said: "The challenge will be brilliant for me to play in this sort of situation.
"I am still a young boy but things like this will turn me into a man. I am really looking forward to the challenge."
Maguire is yet to make a first-team appearance for Rangers but joins a trio of fellow Londoners experiencing regular football for the first time.
The Tottenham trio of striker Jonathan Obika, winger Andros Townsend and full back Danny Hutchins are also teenagers making their way in the west country.
"We are all staying in the same place," said Maguire. "It is a massive contrast from London. I went into the town centre on Wednesday and there wasn't a soul there.
"It is really different but it is nice and quiet and I can concentrate on my football because you only have that to worry about.
"Going away from London might be the best thing for me to keep my head down and concentrate.
"It can do me no harm coming here. Maybe I am lacking experience because I have played in the reserves for three years and there is nothing like playing in front of a crowd at 3pm on a Saturday.
"I have been at QPR 11 years, since I was eight years old but I am a pro now and I need first-team football."
Maguire's development was held up after he sustained a stress fracture of the foot the pre-season before last.
That has left his long-term QPR future in doubt. Already Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in taking him on when his contract expires this summer.
"They was interested to take me next year," said Maguire. "QPR are not sure what they are doing with me.
"Palace are looking to build a young side next year and I told them about this opportunity and they said it is too good to turn down.
"But they are going to watch me every week. I could be there next season but you never know."
Maguire has only had a couple of training sessions with his new team-mates but already he thinks he has seen enough quality to pull the Glovers out of the relegation zone.
"From what I have seen there is no reason why we can't stay up," he said.
"The majority of games we have got left are at home and it is in our own hands.
"If we play well at home we should be looking at three points and there is no reason why we can't win away as well."
Maguire describes himself as an all-round midfield player.
"I am generally a player who likes to make things happen by getting on the ball and I can go box to box," he said. "I can sit as well. At QPR we play with a three in midfield and I usually anchor.
"There are loads of players I look up to like Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas. Those are the players at the standard you want to play at."
The only disappointment for Maguire is that he cannot link up with former QPR team-mate Marc Bircham, who retired through injury earlier this year.
"When he was at QPR I was doing my YTS and he (Bircham) was like a cult hero," he said. "Everyone looked up to him and it is a shame he isn't here because he was a nice fella and a good player."
