THE NEWS AT ONE - JULY 9TH

Posted on: Fri 09 Jul 2010
The main League One news today concerns a player who was at Huish Park last season. Welsh winger Arron Davies has signed a two year deal with Peterborough United where he will team up with his former manager Gary Johnson again.

Davies hit 27 goals in 115 Yeovil appearances and thrilled the crowds with his raiding attacking style but found things harder second time around as he recovered from form and injury troubles.

Notts County have invited former Huddersfield defender Krystian Pearce to join them on their pre-season trip to Austria. Pearce, 20, started his career at Birmingham and went out on loan five times during his stay at St Andrews.

Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry has appointed 51-year-old Kevin Summerfield as the club's assistant manager. Summerfield will bring vast experience to the role having been no.2 at Plymouth, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Swindon.

Leeds have signed former Charlton Athletic winger Lloyd Sam on a free transfer. Sam, who was interesting three other Championship sides as well, has signed a two year deal bidding farewell to a side he made almost 140 appearances for.

One Addick staying put is highly-rated midfielder Scott Wagstaff who today penned a new two year deal at The Valley. The 20-year-old product of the youth system was a shining light for the Londoners last season making thirty appearances and scoring four goals.
