GLOVERS v THE 'POOLS

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010
Yeovil Town take on the long-travelling Hartlepool United at Huish Park tomorrow in a game that kicks off at 3.00pm.

Tickets are still available and, as an added incentive, the fixture is the second designated "Kids for a Quid" this season after the October game against Carlisle United. This means that children can be admitted for just one pound for the game.

The game sees both sides hoping to continue their recent climb away from the danger zone after an indifferent sort of results prior to that.

Yeovil have taken ten points from the last seven games, an impressive return considering that Charlton, Norwich, MK Dons, Colchester and Walsall were all in the top ten when the Glovers faced them.

Chris Turner's men have won two of their last three games after their run of seven matches without a win. They beat Southend 3-0 last weekend at the Victoria Ground in a match that saw debutant striker Roy O'Donovan hit a hat-trick in a dream start for the Irishman.

As seems to be the norm, there are two former Glovers returning to Huish Park. Goalkeeper Scott Flinders comes back to the club that he played nine games on loan with two years ago while Ritchie Jones, the ex-Manchester United midfielder, also returns to a club that he spent four months on loan with in 2007/08.

The head-to-head suggests a pretty even game with Yeovil's three wins eclipsing Hartlepool's two wins with two draws. Last time out, at Victoria Park, a Sam Williams goal earned a point in a game only passed fit hours before the kick off.

Prior to that, the Glovers had to go back to December 2007 to find a victory over 'Pools when goals from Terry Skiverton, Marcus Stewart and Lloyd Owusu gave Yeovil a 3-1 win at Huish Park.

As mentioned above, it's a "Kids for a Quid" fixture so round up your children and get them down to the entertainment centre of Yeovil, Huish Park. The more there, the better as Terry's men look to climb nearer the top of the division and begin the run-in in style.
