FIVE STAR PERFORMANCE BY ROBINS

Posted on: Sat 06 Mar 2010
A depleted and inexperienced Yeovil Town youth team suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of a strong Swindon Town side this morning.

The young Glovers were missing several players through injury and the loss of Rhys Baggridge and Rob Clowes to Sherborne Town on loan.

Swindon took the lead just before the quarter hour mark when Seb Broomfield, ex-Argyle schoolboy, scored. Yeovil's Sam Ford was injured in the build up and was replaced by Lloyd Matthews.

Cory Lewis looked set to equalise when he was clean through on goal but Robins defender Will Evans hauled him down and was lucky to escape with just a yellow card.

The incident looked even more harsh five minutes later when Broomfield doubled his, and Swindon's, tally before half time.

The second half began with Ciaran Levet pulling a hamstring and going off to be replaced by Aidan Chainey but within ten minutes the killer third goal went in. Adam Wakley pulled down a Swindon attacker in the box and Matty Barnes slotted home the penalty.

The final twenty minutes saw two further goals for the Robins when Billy Bodin and Josh Parsons both scored to give the scoreline an unflattering look.
