Yeovil Town supporter Nick Burton will be putting his best foot forward (several thousand times) on Sunday as he takes part in the 2010 Bath Half Marathon.
The 39-year-old postman from Yeovil, who also works as first floor security at Huish Park, is running for breast cancer charity CoppaFeel; an organisation set up by Kristin, a friend of Nick's sister.
He has now completed his training routine which included investing in a treadmill to run on at home when the snow arrived recently.
Speaking exclusively to www.ytfc.net, Nick said "The longest run I've done before was a 10km event at Longleat for Cancer Research. It took me 48 minutes which people have told me was quite quick but I'm not expecting to be that speedy in Bath".
Nick has been a Glovers fan now for almost three decades and was a ball boy in the early years at Huish. He is being supported by his family too; wife Shelley and daughters Poppy (6) and Ruby (3) and they are backing him to complete the race.
The event raised more than £1.2million last year and is one of the largest generators of money to charity in the South West. Its two lap course starts and finishes in Great Pulteney Street and straddles the River Avon.
CoppaFeel is a breast cancer charity that aims to hit home the importance of breast examination in younger women.
As well as informing them about breast cancer, CoppaFeel's active campaign strives to instil confidence in younger women wishing to seek professional advice when concerns arise.
The ultimate goal of CoppaFeel is to reduce the amount of incidents of late detection or misdiagnosis of breast cancer.
