After the excitement and emotion of Saturday's testimonial for manager Terry Skiverton, the pre-season takes a slightly more serious turn next Monday week (13th July).

The Glovers have entered the second annual Errea South-West Challenge Cup where they have been drawn in Group B with League Two Grimsby Town and Belgian provincial league side RRFC Montegnee.

Last season, the Glovers faced Kidderminster and Chertsey in the group stages beating both of them before losing to Torquay United 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

This year, Yeovil kick off with a trip to Appledore to face RRFC Montegnee. The Liege-based team, who play in the grandly named Stade Joseph Vanstraeten, have strong academy links with both the USA and Canada drawing most of their players from those countries.

One player who will be very familiar to Yeovil fans will be Jamie Gosling. The Bath-born midfielder played seventeen times for Yeovil in our League Two days scoring one goal and has recently joined Montegnee after leaving Hungerford Town.

Montegnee have recently had a complete overhaul of their squad after just missing out on the play-offs last season. No fewer than nineteen players have come in including goalkeeper Martin Horsell who can name Bristol Rovers and Dorchester among his former clubs.

Tickets cost just £5 and will admit one adult and one child for that price. You can get them by visiting www.discountsportonline.co.uk and clicking on the relevant box at the bottom of the page.

Yeovil v Montegnee kicks off at 6.00pm on Monday, 13th July at Appledore FC which can be found at Bay Ridge, Churchill Way, Appledore, EX39 1PA

The Glovers second match in the group will be at 7.00pm on Friday, 17th July against Grimsby Town at Torrington Town, a game we will preview later in the week.
