THE STARS ARE ON THEIR WAY

Posted on: Fri 03 Jul 2009

There is now less than twenty-four hours to go until the unofficial curtain-raiser of the season.

Manager Terry Skiverton celebrates a decade at Yeovil Town with a mouth-watering star-studded match at Huish Park between a Terry Skiverton Select XI and Yeovil's 2002/03 Conference winning side.

Terry's squad, managed by former Yeovil boss Colin Lippiatt, contains several players with Chelsea connections, a reminder of the fact that the manager started his career at Stamford Bridge.

England's John Terry will captain the side with Tore Andre Flo, Gus Poyet and Dennis Wise also down to play along with other familiar faces such as Lee Trundle, Marcus Stewart and Muzzy Izzet.

Gary Johnson will return to manage the squad that lifted Yeovil into the Football League in 2002/03. Chris Weale, Lee Johnson, Adam Lockwood and Gavin Williams are amongst a host of former Glovers taking part along with legendary striker Warren Patmore, recently appointed manager of Wellington.

The game kicks off at 3.00pm and tickets are still available from the ticket office on (01935) 847888. Adult tickets are £12.00 for the seated stands and £10.00 for the terraces while concessions will be admitted for £6.00 anywhere and under-sixteens for £2.00.

Come along and join us. The day should be a great celebration for a man with 383 Yeovil appearances and 44 goals behind him who has made the transition from Conference player to League One manager inside a decade.
