New signing Scott Murray is targeting his 100th career goal as he looks to get his spell with the Glovers off to a memorable start.

The former Bristol City winger has been stuck on the 99 goal mark since November, when he netted for Cheltenham during a loan spell at Whaddon Road.

And he's keen to reach the magical ton as quickly as possible to make a flying start to his time at Huish Park.

"I'll be looking to get to the hundred against Tranmere in the first game of the season if I can," said the Scotsman, who once scored 27 goals in a season for City.

"Every season I set myself a target of getting into double figures and that's what I'll be looking to do here as well, although I don't think I'll ever get up to 27 again, that was a one-off.

"I should really have reached a hundred by now anyway because I missed a penalty when I was on loan at Cheltenham last season.

"I had a few chances after that as well, but it didn't go in for me and I've been waiting a few months now."

Murray also spoke to League One newcomers Exeter City before signing for Yeovil and turned down the chance to join up with a number of his former Bristol City team-mates.

"Coming to Yeovil was the best move for me, although I do have quite a few friends at Exeter," said Murray.

"I know we're playing them in the third league game of the season and I've already had some banter with Marcus Stewart, who I played with at City. We're doing a similar commute down the M5 and I think I saw him go past me this morning.

"It'll be nice to play against Stewie and Alex Russell and the other lads at Exeter, so I'm looking forward to that game."

We'll have a full audio interview with Scott on Glovers World later today.
