Posted on: Tue 07 Jul 2009

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go!!

Yes it's pre-season already as Yeovil Town's players reported back for pre-season at Huish Park this morning.

Under the watchful eye of manager Terry Skiverton, assistant Nathan Jones and new Physio Simon Baker the players were put through their paces with the usual mixture of running, press ups and exercises under a blazing sun which just to make life even harder.

Don't let anyone tell you being a professional footballer is an easy job!!

Having already been put under tests at the Nuffield Fitness Centre in Yeovil figures for the players ability to burn up calories and fat had already been obtained.

Now it was a case of using those readings to get the best out of each player as they strive for the optimum fitness level on kick-off Saturday.

New signings Stefan Stam and Scott Murray were taking part in the session whilst old favourite Paul Terry was present , training with the first team prior in anticipation of Terry Skiverton's Testimonial match on Saturday.

Another old favourite having a trial was goal keeper Darren Bechet who has been plying his trade with Hornchurch in the last few months.

Despite not agreeing a contract as yet Terrell Forbes was back in Yeovil as was Danny Schofield who had been the subject of rumours linking him with a move back up North.

But the first day back was all about hard graft as the Glovers prepare to embark on a new season under new management team of Terry Skiverton and Nathan Jones.
