Scott Murray scored a brace as Yeovil extended their unbeaten run to four games with a 2-2 draw over Brighton at Huish Park this afternoon.

The flying Scot grabbed his 100th senior goal in first half stoppage time before smashing home a penalty with eight minutes to go to grab the Glovers a deserved point.

Yeovil had looked bright from the off with George O'Callaghan and Andy Welsh setting up Andy Lindegaard but his cross from the right flank sliced wide.

It was a rare highlight in the first twenty minutes as Russell Slade, returning to Huish Park for the first time since leaving the club in February, encouraged his men to go forward through the flanks at every opportunity.

bha

Six minutes in and the Seagulls took the lead. A long, looping ball into the box was partially headed clear by Craig Alcock but Andrew Crofts volleyed a first time shot into the net.

bha

Brighton continued pressing and both Liam Dickinson and Nicky Forster fired shots over from outside the box.

bha

Gavin Tomlin and Welsh were involved in the more impressive moves as Yeovil counter attacked but all too often, the final ball disappointed.

Terrell Forbes had the home side's best chance when he headed narrowly wide from a Welsh corner.

bha

As time went by, Murray settled into the game more and his crosses were causing consternation among the Brighton defence. One such cross was volleyed straight at the keeper by Welsh.

bha

Sam Williams, buffeted and battered all afternoon, not always fairly, headed wide from Jean-Paul Kalala's cross.

bha

On forty minutes, the game turned after a controversial incident. Williams appeared to be pulled down wide on the touchline only for referee Langford to award the kick to the visitors, booking Williams for his trouble.

The free kick was launched into the area where it fell to Dickinson to fire home a second.

bha

Yeovil had to make it to half time with no further calamity but amazingly grabbed a goal back in first half stoppage time.

With the half-time kettle boiling over, Welsh knocked the ball out to Murray on the right and his fizzer of a first time shot hurtled into the net past a despairing Michel Kuipers.

bha

The first half of the second half was all Yeovil as the Glovers pressed for a rightful equaliser. Williams failed to get power on his shot, substitute Jon Obika (on for a tiring Tomlin) headed wide and the same player glanced another effort wide as the home side pushed for the second.

As the second half wore on, the time wasting tactics and cynicism of the visitors were noted by the referee who grew wise to them.

bha

They were punished in the best possible way with eight minutes left. Jake Wright was booked for yanking back Welsh in full flight and from the resultant free kick, Terrell Forbes was pulled down in the penalty box.

bha

Referee Langford pointed to the spot and Murray, on a high after grabbing that milestone century goal, thumped his penalty high into the net.

bha

Both sides seemed unsure whether to go for the winner or settle for a point and as it was, the best chance of a winner fell to Welsh who ran fifty yards before being disposed by a defender as he was to pull the trigger.

bha

Another point gained by the Glovers who can now push forward with another winnable home game against Carlisle next Saturday.
