
Yeovil Town turned on the style last night at the City Ground to turn around a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of this semi final tie to reach the League One play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
The Glovers won the match 5-2, going through to the historic showcase final 5-4 on aggregate.
This will be a match that is remembered by supporters for generations to come, not just for the magnitude of the result, but also for the way in which it was achieved.

From the moment Mr Poll signalled the start of the game, with the likes of Arron Davies, Marcus Stewart, Lee Morris and Wayne Gray immediately attacking and putting the home side under pressure, you knew that we were in for a special match.
This was a scintillating performance from the lads, and one that surpassed last Friday, and unlike that first leg, the goals flowed, with Arron Davies grabbing two, plus one a-piece from Lee Morris and Marcus Stewart, as well as an own goal from Alan Wright.

Coming into the game, Russell Slade kept with the same team as last week, with the only change being the inclusion of Matty Rose on the bench, for Darren Behcet.
With Morris on the left wing and Gray up front with Stewart, the Glovers looked sharp, willed to success by their enthusiastic 1,095 support, who could be clearly heard, despite 26,000 Forest fans.
In the second minute, Arron Davies lost his marker to advance through to take a low shot from the edge of the box that Smith caught low.

A minute later at the other end, James Perch advanced down the right wing to shoot from 25 yards, with the ball ending up in the top netting.
McGugan went close with a free kick from the edge of the box soon after, but Mildenhall was at his diving best, with a superb save.
Yeovil now stepped up a gear, with Guyett having a decent shot from the edge of the box, and Morris shooting from 25 yards in the 15th minute - Smith making a decent save.

The Glovers continued with their attack, with Stewart, Morris and Davies gaining in influence, and it was a combination of two of these that set up the opening goal on 22 minutes.
Stewart grabbed the ball in midfield to send a long ball over to Davies on the wing to go on a run down the flank, then into the middle to send in a tremendous shot from just outside the box, past Smith and into the back of the net for a great goal!!1-0

Stewart went close a minute later when he sent an overhead kick just over the bar from the edge of the box, and the Glovers were on a real high.
Forest were still very much in it, and this was proved when Dobie broke down the wing on 26 minutes to eventually shoot just wide of Mildenhall's far post.

The action was fast and furious and very entertaining, with the Yeovil attack right on song.
Davies went close with a lovely shot from 12 yards on 36 minutes for Smith to make a great save.Stewart grabbed the rebound, with Smith again using his reflexes well to somehow keep the ball out.

Within two minutes of the restart, Forest were back on terms when Scott Dobie headed in at the far post from a decent McGugan corner. 1-1.

Yeovil continued to attack, playing some lovely football, with Stewart, Davies, Morris and Gray very much the catalysts.
McGugan was doing well for the home side too, and on 51 minutes he broke into the box to send in a good shot from 12 yards, just over the bar.

Yeovil soon put on more pressure, with Gray taking a lovely shot from 10 yards on 56 minutes that was superbly saved by Smith.Guyett tried to get to the rebound, but missed out, with Morris following up with a lovely angled shot that again brought the best out of Smith.
Despite it being mostly Yeovil, Forest were still in it, with Lester forcing his way into the box on 66 minutes to send in an angled shot that was well saved by Mildenhall.

It was often end to end, with both sides playing some lovely football, but as the clock started to tick, Russell Slade decided to inject some fresh blood by introducing JP Kalala to the action for Chris Cohen on 74 minutes.
Just eight minutes later the Yeovil end was sent into raptures when the 'Frenchman' picked the ball out to send in a superb long range shot that came back off the bar and then rebounding off Alan Wright and into his own goal.2-1

Both sides attacked well now, with Yeovil buzzing as the sensed their chance.
The pressure told eventually, with Yeovil getting their deserved reward when Andy Lindegaard advanced down the right wing to cross in for Marcus Stewart to head home from 6 yards to send Somerset into the heavens!3-1

With the tie now at 3-3 on aggregate, extra time looked assured, but both sides carried on attacking, looking to end it before the final whistle.
But in their eagerness to achieve this, Forest had David Prutton sent off for a foul on Jones, and the home side moved into extra time with the added pressure of being down to ten men.

It was all or nothing for both sides now, as the game moved into the lottery of extra time, and as they did so, Yeovil scored to take the lead in the tie when Morris latched onto a poorly timed back header from Wes Morgan, to round the 'keeper and send the ball into the empty net.4-1.
Forest were almost immediately back on terms when Gary Holt volleyed the ball home from 18 yards from a Grant Holt header.4-2.

What an incredible game!
Both sides really went for it now as they both attacked with fury.Forest were having some good possession, but the play was still fairly even.

Yeovil were still doing well, with Jones sending a lovely ball to Morris on 100 minutes to dance his way into the box, but his shot deflected off the 'keeper.A good effort and a nice move though.
The atmosphere in the ground was tense, but both sets of fans were willing their teams on, and on 103 minutes Kalala sent a great ball to Gray on the edge of the box to shoot powerfully, Smith saving well.

And then just before the break Yeovil could have taken another dramatic lead when Davies took a short corner out to Barry to sail the ball into the box to the head of Morris, but Smith got there just in time

With fifteen minutes to go, a nail biting affair ensued, with both sides attacking well, and it was virtually impossible to forecast the outcome of the game.

Davies shot from just outside the box on 107 minutes, with Smith yet again making the save.
Two minutes later Arron Davies scored the decisive goal when he received a pass from Morris on the left to burst into the box and hammer the ball past Smith from 12 yards.
With the fat lady starting to sing, Yeovil now continued on to a deserved and superb victory, but with the crowd willing them on they could have got six, when the wonderful Davies went on a magical run through midfield, and into the box, with just the 'keeper to beat.
He could have squared it to either Barry of Gray, but instead went for the hat trick, with Smith pulling off another good save.
So, Wembley will welcome half of Somerset through it's gates next Sunday, with Blackpool the opponents.
It's going to be quite an occasion!
