For the second time this season, the Glovers lost out 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in a game that they probably deserved to have gained at least a point from.
Though not reaching the heights of last weekend, the Glovers still played well against what was largely an average Forest side, being unlucky to concede the only goal of the game after a rare mistake from Steve Mildenhall early in the second half.
Coming into the game, Russell Slade kept with the 4-3-3 formation that had brought so much success against Huddersfield Town last weekend, but was forced into a some changes, with both Chris Cohen and Nathan Jones out through suspension.

However, Russell was in the happy position of being able to welcome back Terry Skiverton, following two games out with an ankle injury.
The Captain was joined in defence by partner Terrell Forbes in the centre, with Anthony Tonkin coming in for Jones at left back, Andy Lindegaard continuing at right back, and of course Steve Mildenhall in goal.
The attack saw JP Kalala operating in the centre of midfield, with Arron Davies on the left, Anthony Barry on the right, and Marcus Stewart tucked in just behind the front pairing of Lee Morris and Leon Best.

The Glovers got off to an attacking start, having much the better of the opening 15 minutes, with Best, Morris and Stewart in good form up front, and the midfield coming forward as an impressive playing unit.
Morris seemed to be in about ten different positions at once, with him often ripping through the Forest defence, either from the centre or down the left wing.
The home side got forward too, but when they did the Glovers were solid at the back, with Forbes and Lindegaard in particular looking sharp.
Holt and Agogo were a constant threat though, with Tyson also keeping Lindegaard on his toes throughout.

At the other end Morris made himself a couple of half chances, and on 18 minutes Anthony Barry put in a good half volley from the edge of the home box, which Paul Smith in the end easily gathered.
As the game moved beyond the 20 minute mark Yeovil were still on top, and still playing some lovely football at times .
Forest were still very much a threat though, and on 29 minutes missed a golden opportunity to go ahead when Julian Bennett received the ball in the box, and shot from a few yards out, forcing Mildenhall into an excellent point blank save.

A few minutes later Tyson made a lovely break down the left wing, where speeding his way into the box he sent in a good shot that again Mildenhall was equal to.
Morris went close for the Glovers on 39 minutes with a good angled shot from 7 yards, having broken into the box from the left, and with it, this game was alive and kicking as both teams looked for a strong finish to the half.
For Yeovil Best was having a busy time, playing well in the box, keeping Smith under plenty of pressure.

But it was Forest who had the better of it the closing minutes, with Holt and Tyson putting in some good play - the latter going close with a decent free kick from outside of the box on 43 minutes, which again Mildenhall lapped up.
The Glovers probably had the better of the first period, playing some decent football.
However, they had maybe not created as many chances on goal as they would have liked, so as the referee blew for the end of the half they were still waiting for a breakthrough, but with forty-five minutes to go, time was still on their side.
Half Time - Nottingham Forest: 0 Yeovil Town: 0
Forest took the lead within three minutes of the new half getting underway.
With both teams enjoying bright starts, the home side were awarded a free kick about 30 yards out from the Glovers' goal.
James Perch sent the ball into the heart of the Glovers box, with Mildenhall leaping for the high ball.

The 'keeper got up well for it, but couldn't hold it, with the ball coming back out for Grant Holt to bang in from 8 yards. 0-1.
The Glovers were not downhearted, and came back well with some fine attacking play from Morris, Stewart, Best and Tonkin as they started to assert some good pressure.
Morris was the real live wire, and went close with a fine shot on 58 minutes, as he continued to rattle the former European champions.
Lee was getting the ball into the Forest box well, and creating some reasonable chances for the team, with the best coming for Kalala on 65 minutes, as he hit his shot over the bar from just inside the box.

On 73 minutes Russell Slade decided to add some extra pace into midfield, bringing on Ishmael Welsh for Lee Morris, with the team reverting to a more conventional 4-4-2 formation.
It was hard luck on Morris who had enjoyed a fine game, but had perhaps just run out of legs.
Welsh as ever had a positive effect on the match, with some effective running both down the flank and through the centre.
And he had a great chance to score too, when receiving the ball from Kalala on 76 minutes he sent in a powerful shot that really tested Smith - the 'keeper doing just enough to keep the ball out.
I
n essence the second half had been a pretty even affair, with both sides playing some good attacking football.
As a result Yeovil were probably unlucky to be finding themselves a goal down.
They never gave up, and on 84 minutes Welsh went close again when he chipped the ball over the bar
With the clock ticking fast towards the end of the game though, the supporters started to fear that this was not going to be Yeovil's day.
The team battled hard for that all-important goal in those final minutes, creating some good pressure on the home box, but despite Wayne Gray being added to the proceedings, they just couldn't get that vital goal.
So a run of seven matches without defeat have come to an end, but Yeovil still remain well embedded in the play-offs in 5th place.
At the end of the game the lads were able leave the pitch with their heads held high, having put in a fine performance.

The supporters performed well too, putting in an excellent display themselves, as every one of the 1,225 chanted and sung throughout the afternoon.
Despite everything Russell Slade will no doubt be disappointed with the defeat, as he now looks to lift his team in readiness for the visit of Brentford to Huish Park next weekend.
