Gareth, 31, originally joined the club as a goalkeeping coach in January 2011 having most recently played for Blue Square South side Welling United but has now also registered to play for the club.

Local football fans will remember his long spell at Bournemouth ; the Preston-born six footer spent nine years at Dean Court where he made 179 first team appearances.

Gareth started his career with Blackburn Rovers but left before he made the first team, joining the Cherries in 1999. He was an integral part of the team at Bournemouth for several seasons before joining Dorchester Town in 2008 and Welling two years later.

He was a regular fixture on the bench last season making appearances in the Somerset Premier Cup semi final and final.
