FORMER YEOVIL KEEPER DAVID JONES PASSES AWAY

The club are very sad to report the death of former goalkeeper David Jones aged 79.

David joined Swansea from the Army and was signed up by Yeovil manager Jimmy Baldwin in 1958 and went on to make 363 appearances before injury forced his retirement in 1967.

David went on to become the Yeovil Youth side coach before retiring as the 12th. longest serving Yeovil Town player.

After his football career ended he went on to become a sales rep with Walls Ice cream and then ran a Spar shop in Wales for 20 years.

David's funeral will be held at Swansea Crematorium on Friday July 11th at 12pm.  Refreshments afterwards at Morrison Golf Club. Family flowers only. Donations to Maggies Cancer Centre in Swansea.
